What is Sugar Craft?

Sugar craft is the detailed Art of Cake making and decoration using pastes made from confectioner’s sugar. Simply put it is the Art of creating confectionery or cake decoration from sugar paste.

This is the Art that brings all types of Cakes to life in the most amazing way. From beautiful wedding cakes to creative and colourful birthday cakes, corporate and graduation cakes, engagement to Anniversary cakes just to mention but a few.

Transforming a mixture of flour and sugar with a combination of other ingredients such as eggs, butter, spices, candid fruits, nuts and many others into sumptuous cakes is a skill we are glad to share with our able students as this forms the body upon which creativity is brought to taste.

One must crawl before they learn to walk, for that reason we have designed a program that takes you step by step from the cake baking techniques through the decoration process to the final product that is devoured by Joyful mouths.
The program is split into two; one for beginners and Advance which is for the black belts in the world of cakes.

In Basic Sugar Craft you will cover Cake Baking Techniques, Butter cream skills, coating, Flowers and Cake designs, Fondant, Gum Paste and Sugar Paste among others.

In Advance Sugar Craft you learn how to create all types of wire and unwired flowers and sprays e.g. roses, orchids, lilies & carnations among others, Drawing Cartoons on Cakes, Extension work, modeling and molding, Designing Creative novelty cakes, Coating, Crimping, embossing, Fabric Effects, Textured Drapes, Frills, Ribbons, Embroidery and Designing celebration cakes and colour Balance among many other exciting lessons.

Basic Sugar craft course will cost you KES 19500/= only while the Advance Sugar Craft course will cost you KES 25000/= only. If you combine both at once you get yourself a 10% discount.

Chef Daniel Mungai always tells the students that 5% is the most you can get, 95% you get for yourself. That gives you so much room to be come the best you can.

Our courses have been designed in such a manner that is short to market. What I mean by this is that we have programs that take 4 to 6 months in our institution and 4 months in industrial attachment.

These are Programs that work as has been proven by the kind of Jobs our students secure regardless of the educational and social back grounds.
